Villa Farnese

We went into Rome, to visit the the Trastevere, and started with the Villa Farnese. It looks quite photogenic on the outside:

Inside was a riot of Mannerist painting, and a prohibition on photography. All the more irritating since there werenīt even the normal “Roma, city of art” guidebooks to provide photographic mementoes.

And the gardens looked lovely; unfortunately we couldnīt visit them because they had been treated with some poisonous anti-rat or –insect preparation.
