Strahov Monastery

This is one of the two libraries that persuaded the Emperor Joseph not to close down this monastery, as part of his program of reforms.

I didn’t do a very good job of setting the tripod vertical … even though I had my photo ticket ready to show any marauding wardens. I think we later read that Smetana or his father had taught in the monastery’s school (all the notices were in Czech).
